bring me
bring me back from the heavy death of days
where nothing goes as planned
where today the same as yesterday
and tomorrow already out of hand
where the sins of our furthest fathers
have long gone buried possibility
so far beneath the ground
even god is petrified
bring me up from my knees
head so bloodied and so bowed
after long lost generations of defeat
of being cut like trees
bring me up from untold losses
of love and life and limb
and from losing her
and from losing him
where I can no longer feel anything outside this pain
where my suffering is so inescapable even dying
offers no comfort or relief
bring me to lift my chin
to remember the quiet rush
the surging and the quickening
of every cell awakening
bring me to
Awareness! Vibrancy!
Chemistry! Biology!
Electricity! Intensity!
bring me even more
than music or mathematics
in ways that can't be counted
in verse that can't be sung
speak to me in the language
of our First Mother's tongue
wherein every sense i feel
how well you lick my wounds
with your lingering lyrical Yes
herein wonder i can watch
you bring me higher still
every lie undressed
and suck from me absolutely
the fountains of all youth
inhale me even deeper
swallow me in your truth
take me in all directions
open me
thrash me
pound me
show me and expand me
bring me to almost
and then...
and then...
and then...
Bring me NOW!
ignite me in that mystic space
within one and only your embrace
where together we erupt
illuminate the day
obliterate the dark
blow the sky to smithereens
absolve anything corrupt
Bring us NOW!
to arise together beyond heaven
beyond any kingdom come
from the sun beyond the moon
from the truth above all truth
until forever and never done
Bring US!
Bring us here to tell again
to ravage now and quell
the cold dark deathly night
from beyond the end of stars
until the birth of Light
