within me now new tides arise
the swelling H20 of your love surmised
before the dawn i dreamed of blue
and turquoise ways of showing you
how even rolling words like thunder
cast away as men in wonder
cannot toss or turn my boat
as in your embrace i float
dreaming darkly of your deep breathing
the ocean of you whose depth delivers
the beckoning waves of great lakes heaving
the invitation of all your rivers
feeling now your ebb and flow
your rise and fall in waves
the tsunami of all that comes and goes
only you this body craves
listening to your fluent mystic
your vast and wet and deep within
gazing at you i neither speak nor risk it
disturbing the surface of your skin
not with sounds of the softest glancing breeze
not with ripples from the lightest pebble touch
not even misting silent words as these
for here even sighing is too much
beside your quiet dark and deep, your lovely morning dew
quenching my heart's thirst, glistening too bright to miss
within me now the fluid warmth of you
the moist promise of your kiss
within me now your silent ways
your secret safe at centre
your open locks and hidden bays
only with reverence will i enter
boldened by your sleeping calm
i want to scoop you up
stir you for some fun
yet holding back my thirsting palm
it is enough to fill my cup
knowing your rivers run
so i laid there quietly by your side
on the velvet beach of your closed eyes
basking in the sunshine of love's cry
comforted by your morning tide
with sea foam thoughts
of azure feelings
finally I arose
and with you in my soul
got my punk ass out of bed
~ within me now
